In the city where east meets west, it’s not surprising that The Bridge in Kansas City is a little bit of this and a little bit of that. At their core is a deeply engrained community radio station with one of the coolest music mixes in the country and long-time local hosts who are trusted curators of music and local culture. Few music stations in the country are as inextricably imbedded with their local music scene – thanks to the gang at The Bridge who have been part of it for decades and for the station’s ongoing support of “Local 909” artists, venues, and events. On-air, 90.9 The Bridge is as good as it gets, with Program Director Bryan Truta in mornings, Misti Mundae in middays, Jon Hart in afternoons, and Music Director Sarah Bradshaw in evenings. They are the official broadcast partner of the KC Currents women’s pro soccer team, which has introduced a whole new audience to The Bridge and been part of their ratings surge. Led by long-time President/CEO Kliff Kuehl, the best part of The Bridge is their community activations, which there are too many to list. Give Back Friday, Altheimer’s Walk, Thundergong, and the KC Pet Project are just some of the many ways they are helping others.
